Church & Community

Goodrich is a thriving and friendly rural community with lots of interaction between the school, the Church and the village. Pupils make regular visits to St. Giles Church via the footpath that crosses the green behind the school. Please click the image below to go to the church website.

Goodrich-Village-Hall This green is known as Moors Meadow where there is also a children’s playground. The village has an active village hall committee and the events at the hall appear on the community calendar on this website. Jolly’s shop is in the centre of the village and is well known to all Goodrich school pupils. Within walking distance of the school stands the ancient castle giving pupils access to centuries of local history. (See link below)

Goodrich School has also forged links with Wampa Primary in the Namutumba region of Uganda and the pupils organise Wacky Wampa Day to raise funds for this school.

A couple quotes from our latest Statutory Inspection of Angican and Methodist Schools (S.I.A.M.S.) report:

‘Goodrich Primary is outward looking, working closely with the local community to create opportunities and positive experiences for the pupils.’

and

“Parents speak fulsomely of their gratitude for all that the school does to gently nurture the Christian values.’ (SIAMS 2017)

Other pupil quotes:

“We do lots and lots of things that involve the Church”

Referring to the ‘Values of the Month’:

“Values make you think about what you are doing wrong and how you can change”
